The capital of the German land Bavaria, the city of Munich, with a population of 2 200 000 inhabitants, is a rich combination of industrial enterprises and historical symbols of a bright past.
The town was founded in 1158 by Heinrich, Duke of Saxony, and became over time one of the most important centers of power and domination in Germany, the cradle of Wittelsbach dynasty. During the 663 years of this dynasty’s domination a series of fantastic castles have been built, exemplifying the Bavarian love for grandeur and spectacle.
In 1920 Munich became the birthplace of National Socialism, also known as Nazism. 18 years later, the city became the place where the odious political treaty which France and Britain that allowed the breaking of Czechoslovakia was signed
Rebuilt after the war, Munich became the country’s center of high-tech industries, bringing great prosperity to its inhabitants.
The city has a great tourism potential, three medieval gates together with the magnificent tower of Frauenkirche Cathedral from the 15th century and the impressive City Hall Gothic building, as well as some of the best hotels in Germany are only a small part of the attractions that visitors may see in Munich.
